美國賭城拉斯維加斯在當地時間1日晚間驚傳槍擊事件，槍手於曼德雷灣（Mandalay Bay）賭城飯店的32樓，朝對街正在舉行的鄉村音樂節慶典開槍掃射，導致截至目前為止59人死亡、527人受傷。
當地警方表示，槍手為已經飲彈自盡的64歲白人男性派德克（Stephen Paddock），雖然稍早激進組織「伊斯蘭國」（Islamic State，IS）聲稱與此案有關，不過美國聯邦調查局（FBI）則指出，派德克和國際恐怖組織並無任何關係。
綜合外媒報導，1日晚間，曼德雷灣賭城飯店外正舉行一場音樂節慶典，但是卻突然遭槍手開槍射擊，民眾紛紛驚慌躲避，據信槍手應該是在飯店的32樓，朝著對街的音樂節慶典開槍掃射，造成截至目前為止59人死亡、527人受傷，成為美國史上死傷最慘重的槍擊案。
據了解，派德克曾經在軍火公司旗下擔任會計師，家住佛州奧蘭多。曾經離婚的他，並無任何子女，退休後便與62歲的亞裔女友丹莉（Marilou Danley）同住於拉斯維加斯附近。派德克生前並無任何刑事案底，然而其父親派翠克（Patrick Benjamin Paddock）卻被發現是一名銀行搶匪，還曾經逃獄，名列FBI的10大通緝要犯。
